Jets Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)

The Jets have tried to streamline their offensive system somewhat to accommodate Brett Favre, tailoring it to his strengths and also converting some of the terminology to names he is more familiar with.

But in their preseason game against the Giants last Saturday, they discovered that perhaps some of their other players need the offense to be simplified a little.

Two long passes by Favre, including a 49-yard touchdown pass to Jerricho Cotchery in the second quarter, were negated by penalties caused by the Jets‘ inability to be properly aligned at the line of scrimmage. Mainly because of that, Favre was unable to lead the Jets to any points in five possessions, including a one-play kneel-down at the end of the first half of their 10-7 win over the Giants.

Small crowd rallies against PSLs at Jets game

Dozens of New York Jets and Giants fans rallied Saturday to protest the personal seat licenses they will be required to buy for the new $1.6 billion stadium that the NFL teams plan to open in 2010.

The Giants announced last month that their PSLs will range in price from $1,000 to $20,000 with about 80 percent of their fan base paying between $1,000 and $7,500 for their seat licenses.

The Jets have not announced a PSL policy, but organizer Steve Kern of Boonton Township expects one to be unveiled within two weeks. He estimated that about 75 people attended the rally, held shortly before the teams met in their annual preseason game.

The injury happened with 10:48 left in the half on an incomplete pass by Brett Favre on third down.

Washington Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell looks to release a pass downfield during the first quarter of a NFL preseason football game against the New York Jets Saturday night, Aug. 16, 2008, at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J.

Brett Favre second-guessed himself at times during the last few weeks. He doubted whether he was doing the right thing by coming out of retirement and leaving Green Bay. A successful debut with the New York Jets erased all that. “I knew I had made the right decision,” Favre said, “when I was on the field tonight.” Favre was solid in his brief Jets debut after a week of cramming to learn his new…
